City of Culture judges visit Bradford
May 10, 2022Last week we welcomed the UK City of Culture special advisory panel to Bradford.
The panel of judges, led by Sir Phil Redmond, took a guided tour of the district – meeting artists, young people, businesses and community leaders to hear why we think Bradford should be UK City of Culture 2025.
“There’s this aspiration to take the youngest city, with a multi-ethnic, multi-faith population, and see how they can use culture to shape the strategic future of that city with a very exciting and vibrant bid”

The judging panel visited the beautiful Bradford Central Mosque before making their way to the iconic Lister Mills to catch up with artists and actors at @MtGstudios — the UK’s leading learning disability performance company

Next the #CityofCulture2025 panel stopped off at Hindu Cultural Centre, met @PRAlearning for quick dance and a samosa then headed to @Kala_Sangam to find out more about @BentArchitectCo @Freedom_Studios and @bdproducinghub and see an exhibition by @PeaceMuseumUK

The panel had a chance to catch up with our amazing creatives and community leaders and got a chance to see the brand new 90m #DavidHockney exhibition
