Family Action is offering an exciting opportunity to work within our highly regarded Bradford Perinatal Support Service. We are looking for a Senior Perinatal Coordinator, to support women and their families who are at risk of developing mental health issues in the perinatal period. The service is an early intervention, low intensity service for those with low level (mild to moderate) mental health issues.
This is a Better Start Bradford project. Better Start Bradford is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund to help children in Bowling and Barkerend, Bradford Moor and Little Horton get the best start in life. They provide more than 20 projects for pregnant women and families with children aged under four. The projects will help to improve children’s emotional, and social development, communication and language development and nutrition. Your contribution
As Senior Perinatal Coordinator you will hold a pro rata case load and take the lead role on pairing families to staff and volunteers and oversight of group work delivery. You will oversee these pairings, providing guidance and reflective supervision, whilst working closely with the service manager to ensure quality standards are maintained. The successful candidate will be required to work in the community, so regular travel will be required.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for an experienced family worker with supervisory or leadership experience and excellent interpersonal skills. You must have an understanding of how mental health issues can affect relationships in a family setting and its impact on an infant. In addition, you need to have experience of working with volunteers.
