Daily School Closure Report:

Bingley Grammar School will be closed to all students on Wednesday 2 September 2026 due to electrical problems affecting the site. The closure has been announced by the school’s headteacher, Luke Weston, who cited issues with the phone system and internet as key reasons for the decision, highlighting concerns over safeguarding and health and safety.

Details of the Closure

The school will reopen on Thursday 3 September 2026, with arrangements for that day adjusted accordingly. On Thursday, students in years 8 to 11 will attend an extended tutor period from 08:30 to 10:00 to receive timetables and other information. Year 7 students will be directed to room N6 upon arrival at 08:30.

Message from the Headteacher

In a message to parents and carers, Mr Weston apologised for the late notice of the closure, explaining that the school had been attempting to resolve the electrical issues before making the decision to close. He also thanked the school community for their understanding and cooperation.
