Local students recognised for business skills and innovation

Bradford College recently hosted the regional finals of the Young Enterprise competition, bringing together student teams from across the area to present their business ideas and demonstrate entrepreneurial skills. The event marked the first time the college has served as the venue for this stage of the competition.

Student participation and activities

Two teams from Bradford College took part in the regional finals after progressing through earlier stages of the national Young Enterprise programme. Throughout the competition, students developed and managed their own business ventures, gaining practical experience in enterprise.

During the finals, the students:

  • Created and operated trade stands to sell their products
  • Demonstrated communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Participated in interviews with local business leaders to discuss their business development and team collaboration
  • Delivered presentations reflecting on their business journey and lessons learned

Awards and recognition

The Bradford College teams received two awards at the event:

  • Technology and Innovation Award
  • Best Customer Service Award

In addition to these accolades, all participating students were awarded Young Enterprise completion certificates recognising the development of various professional and personal skills such as marketing, budgeting, sales, public speaking, and project management.
