Bradford College Students Recognised at SkillsHouse CTE Awards

Local students honoured for achievements in vocational education and skills development

Seven students from Bradford College received awards at the 2026 SkillsHouse Careers and Technical Education (CTE) Awards, an event that highlights success in vocational learning and career progression across the district.

The annual ceremony featured 122 finalists competing in 22 categories, supported by 20 local employer sponsors. The awards aim to recognise the accomplishments of young people in technical education and the contributions of teachers, employers, and partners in facilitating career pathways.

  • Isa Musa – Essential Skills: Collaboration
  • Liam Gladwin – Essential Skills: Flexibility and Adaptability
  • Cadeyrn Richards – Learner of the Year: Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering
  • Mirza Baig – Learner of the Year: Business
  • Adam Scholey – Learner of the Year: Computing Science & Environmental Technologies
  • Joseph Bennett – Learner of the Year: Hospitality, Tourism & Sport
  • Cody Underwood – Learner of the Year: Public Services & Law

Councillor Andrew Judson, Bradford Council’s portfolio holder for economy, regeneration and planning, commented on the event, emphasising the importance of young people developing skills for their futures with the support of teachers and local employers. He described the awards as a celebration of the talent and ambition of young people in the district.

Additional Recognition and Partnership

Special recognition was also given to Jon Hemingway of Abrahams & Carlisle Ltd, a long-standing partner of Bradford College, for his ongoing support of SkillsHouse Careers and Technical Education.

Andrew Laver, chair of the SkillsHouse Partnership Board, highlighted the collective role of businesses, educators, and students in turning potential into opportunities through investment in skills development.
