The Midland Hotel in Bradford is set to host the Bradford Hospice Development Board’s annual charity lunch for the 13th year running, with organisers saying the event has raised more than £400,000 for Marie Curie to date.

The lunch typically brings together around 200 representatives from Bradford’s business community, with proceeds supporting the provision of end-of-life care in the area through Marie Curie.

Last year’s event was hosted by comedian Pete Emmett and featured a keynote speech from former Nottingham Forrest FC and Welsh international goalkeeper, Mark Crossley.

Jane Heath, Head of Sales at Elite Venue Selection, said:

“Hosting this incredible event for the 13th consecutive year is a real honour for the Midland Hotel. The Bradford Hospice Development Board does remarkable work and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting Marie Curie’s important hospice care in our city. The generosity we encounter in the room every year is truly inspiring and we’re pleased to once again be providing a setting worthy of such an important cause.”

The Bradford Hospice Development Board was formed in 2009 to raise awareness of Marie Curie Bradford Hospice. Board representatives include accountancy firm, Azets, solicitors Schofield Sweeney, Blacks, BHP Law and LCF Law, UK bank, Handelsbanken, corporate events agency, ATM Events, Packetts Insurance and Clough Corporate Solutions.

Alan Wintersgill from the Bradford Hospice Development Board said:

“We’re really proud to be delivering our 13th annual lunch thanks to the incredible support of Bradford’s business community. Events like this demonstrate the generosity and community spirit Bradford is known for, and we’re grateful to everyone who contributes year after year to make such a meaningful difference.”
