Bradford (Park Avenue) Bolsters Squad with Double Signing
March 29, 2024Bradford (Park Avenue) has secured the services of goalkeeper Craig Ellison and winger Harley Lawton, as they aim to avoid the drop this season.
Following on from the surprise return of James Hanson from retirement, Bradford (Park Avenue) have announced the signing of goalkeeper Craig Ellison, securing his services until the end of the 2023/24 season. Alongside Ellison, the club has also welcomed winger Harley Lawton on a work experience loan from Accrington Stanley.
Ellison, an experienced player whose career began at Crewe Alexandra, brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to Bradford, having competed in the National League North with teams like Vauxhall Motors and Stalybridge Celtic. His journey through football has seen him at various clubs including FC Halifax Town, Hyde United, and Curzon Ashton, with international stints at CFZ Brasilia in Brazil, Miami Dade in the USA and trials at Fluminense.
The signing of Harley Lawton, on loan from Accrington Stanley, is a strategic move bolstered by the good relationship between the two clubs, with Bradford expressing gratitude to Accrington for facilitating the transfer.
Dean Baker, the Goalkeeper Coach at Bradford, expressed enthusiasm about working with Ellison, highlighting his professionalism and consistent drive to enhance his skills and positively influence the team. Baker, familiar with Ellison’s capabilities from previous spells together, is confident in the goalkeeper’s potential to contribute significantly to the club’s success.
With a frenzy of recent signings, Bradford (Park Avenue) are hoping to avoid relegation. They currently sit 19th in the Northern Premier League, just inside the drop zone with 25 points, two short of Basford United. With just 5 games left to play it will take a tremendous effort from the team if they hope to pull off the great escape.
