Daily School Closure Report: Heat-Related Early Collections Offered

Several schools in Bradford have announced partial closures and optional early collections for pupils due to an amber extreme heat warning affecting the area. These measures aim to manage challenging internal building temperatures and ensure pupil safety during the ongoing hot weather.

Schools Offering Optional Early Collection

  • Clayton Village Primary School: Parents can collect children early from 1:30pm today (24 June 2026) and for the following two days (25 and 26 June). Children who are not collected will remain in school until the usual end of the day. The school and after-school club will remain open as normal for all pupils.
  • Low Moor CofE Primary School: Pupils in Years 1 to 6 will be dismissed following lunch from 24 to 26 June. Children in Reception will continue to attend as normal. Those not collected will stay at school until the end of the day.
  • Woodside Academy: An optional early collection is available from 2pm today (24 June). Parents wishing to collect their children early should go to the main office from 2pm onwards. The school remains open for all other pupils, including clubs and the 5 o’clock club.
  • Worthinghead Primary School: Optional early collection is offered from 1:30pm today and for the next two days. The school and after-school clubs will continue to operate as usual for pupils who remain.
