Bantams Launch ‘Trees for Goals’ Sustainability Initiative
October 23, 2025Bradford City have announced a new environmental initiative titled ‘Trees for Goals’, which will see one tree planted for every goal scored by the club’s men’s or women’s first team during the 2025/26 season.
The project, run in partnership with Woodhouse Grove School and the Woodland Trust, will apply to all league and cup fixtures. To mark the launch, the club will also celebrate last season’s achievements by backdating the scheme, resulting in 154 trees being planted at the training ground from March 2026.
Part of the club’s wider ‘Greener Bantams’ initiative, the project aims to support biodiversity and wildlife in the Bradford region while promoting a more sustainable future.
The Woodland Trust, which will supply the trees, continues to highlight the importance of improving the UK’s woodland habitats to tackle biodiversity loss, mitigate climate change, and enhance well-being.
Bradford City’s sustainability officer, Adam Keizer, said:
“We are delighted to be able to commit to planting a tree for every goal we score. It is such a fantastic way for us to link supporting local wildlife with what happens on the pitch. The fact we can plant the trees at our training ground, in partnership with Woodhouse Grove School, makes it even more special.
Through the ‘Greener Bantams’ initiative, we are committed to supporting local biodiversity and playing our part in creating a cleaner and healthier planet for future generations.“

“Like Bradford City AFC, Woodhouse Grove School is on a journey of sustainability, constantly seeking new ways to enhance our biodiversity.
We are proud to collaborate with the club in planting native hedging on our grounds and hope their goal-scoring success leads to even more trees taking root.”
