Experienced Midfielder Joins for 2026-27 Season

Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC have announced the signing of midfielder Brad Abbott, subject to league and FA approval. The 30-year-old central midfielder joins the club ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, bringing experience and leadership to the squad.

Career Overview

Abbott began his football career with Barnsley and had several loan spells at clubs including Barrow AFC, Harrogate Town, and Chester. He later moved to Buxton for one season before signing for Boston United, where he played under manager Craig Elliott. During his time at Boston United, Abbott made nearly 100 appearances and scored 13 goals across competitions such as the National League North and the FA Cup.

After his spell at Boston United, Abbott had short periods with Grantham Town and Spennymoor Town, before returning to Boston United in 2022. He then signed for Matlock Town, followed by Ashton United, and most recently played for Cleethorpes Town. While at Cleethorpes, Abbott captained the team to the title in their league.

Abbott’s move to Bradford (Park Avenue) reunites him with Craig Elliott, who has managed him previously at Boston United. Elliott highlighted Abbott’s leadership qualities and familiarity with the squad as key factors in the signing.
