Salary: £25,339 pro rata 28 hours per week.
Contract end date: 31st March 2022
This is a rolling recruitment with no deadline – please apply as soon as possible; should we receive sufficient strong applications we will invite candidates for an interview.
Basis is looking to appoint a Navigation & Group Support Worker (Sexual Violence), who is passionate about advocating for and ensuring the needs of women who are or have been experiencing sexual violence are met (such needs may or may not relate directly to the sexual violence they have experienced). You will be offering 1 to 1 support, helping women to navigate the wider system including statutory and third sector services in Leeds (where needed the criminal justice system). This is a key role for us at Basis as many women we support have sexual violence or are still experiencing this and require support in this area. This role is part of a wider team that works with women who are 16+, including women sex workers and women who are sexually exploited and abused.
We are looking for someone who understands how trauma affects people and is able to offer a trauma – informed response, is respectful in engagement with clients, colleagues, and with partner agencies and understands the vital importance of trusting relationships. At Basis we work hard to recognise each person as individual, without judgement and tailor support based on their needs. We are looking for someone who works pragmatically and creatively to ensure women can access the services they need and want (and as they change throughout their engagement with us), who seeks out partnership opportunities to offer further support, who pro-actively and effectively advocates for the individual, challenges stigma and never gives up on someone.
