BDMC Workshop’s
July 23, 2021City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Economy & Development service has plans to commission a place-based entrepreneurial support programme across the district for two to three years. The Council is seeking to commission enterprise coaches in specific localities across the district to provide entrepreneurial support in communities. The ambition is to increase self-employment, sustainable jobs and businesses to help accelerate the economic recovery following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The programme will align with West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s (WYCA) investment and delivery of entrepreneurial support package across the region.
Workshop 1: Enterprise Coaching Services Market Engagement Workshop
We would like to invite all potential bidders to a workshop hosted by the University of Bradford that will provide an overview of the forthcoming commissioning call. There will be information regarding the broad service requirements, provider requirements, programme outputs and geographic focus. We will also hear about some recent research undertaken by the University regarding the impact of Covid-19 on businesses.
The workshop will be open to those who would like to attend in person or to participate online. There are spaces for 30-40 people to attend in person which permits social distancing, as such places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Car parking is available on the University campus.

Workshop 2: Entrepreneurial Support Visioning Workshop
Date and Time: Thursday 29th July 1.00pm – 3.30pm
A second optional workshop will be held on the same day in the afternoon in the same venue linked to enterprise support in the district. This workshop does not directly relate to the procurement of the enterprise coaching services. The aims of the entrepreneurial support visioning workshop are to:
· Agree shared outcomes and the impact that we would like enterprise support to achieve in the district
· To better understand what the entrepreneurial pathways look like and how they connect to existing local and regional support
· To understand how capacity can be built across the district to enable enterprise support
The workshop will be open to those who would like to attend in person or to participate online.
