Anniversary Concert to Support Ukraine Aid Efforts
October 30, 2026A replica of Elvis Presley’s iconic 1973 show will be staged in Bingley
On 17 January 2027, the Bingley Arts Centre will host a special concert titled Aloha from Hawaii, a tribute to Elvis Presley’s famous 1973 performance. The event aims to raise funds for the Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid group, which has been actively delivering aid to Ukraine since 2022.
About the Aloha from Hawaii Show
The concert is a recreation of the original Aloha from Hawaii show performed by Elvis Presley on 14 January 1973. That original event was notable for raising $75,000 for the Kui Lee Cancer Charity and was reportedly viewed by approximately 36% of the global population at the time, making it one of the largest broadcasts ever recorded, especially considering it took place before the advent of the internet and mobile devices.
Charity and Humanitarian Aid Focus
The 2027 concert is organised as an anniversary event by JD King Concerts to support the Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid group. Since 2022, this group has delivered over 700 tons of aid, including supplies sent directly to frontline areas in Ukraine. The group is led by Tim Marsden, who ensures that the aid reaches those most in need.
Tim Marsden is a Corporate Member of the Adventurers Rotary Club and has been recognised with the “Service above Self” award from Rotary International, an honour given to only 150 individuals annually worldwide. The Rotary Club of Adventurers and the Aire Valley Eagles Rotary Group are supporting the ongoing efforts of the humanitarian aid group.
